In the midst of so much uncertainty, what a beautiful surprise…

Memory Bear and Memory Pillow Master Craftsman
“I stitch smiles.”
After 32 years of marriage, raising two wonderful children, and now having an empty nest, I decided to make some changes in my life and follow my passion for sewing. I started sewing in a high school home economics class. After getting married at 18, I began doing sewing and alterations. I made most of my clothes, as well as my children’s. When my children were old enough to attend school, I went back to work as a seamstress in two different garment-manufacturing businesses.
One day, my children received memory bears for Christmas made from their Papaw McDaniel’s shirts. It occurred to me that sewing memory bears would create an opportunity for me to follow my passion for sewing and help others turn their memories into keepsakes.
After working as the office manager for Uniform Express, I gained an understanding of operations for running a business. I started selling my hand-crafted memory bears and memory pillows as a side hustle. In January 2015, I was able to leave my job as office manager and focus full time on Memory Lane Boutique.
I have finally realized my dream of owning my own business. Welcome to Memory Lane Boutique!
